Catharine Larki Arszyla, 89, Of Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Catharine Larkin Arszyla, of Bridgeport, died on Sunday, June 21, at Bridgeport Hospital. She was 89.

Arszyla was born in Bridgeport to Francis and Eva Farrell Larkin. She retired after a career as a remedial reading and math teacher with the City of Bridgeport.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Henry J. Arszyla, daughters Janice (Albert) Ciesielski and Barbara (Walter) Pratt, and five siblings, Agnes Kroszer, William Larkin, Charles Larkin, Gertrude Daniels and Margaret Mandulak,

Arszyla is survived by her children, Nancy and James A. St. Pierre, Karen and Mark Marko, Joyce and Phil Nastu, Maureen Arszyla and Ralph, Kenneth and Marianne Arszyla, Thomas and Sandra Arszyla, Cathleen and Ralph Hernandez, 13 grandchildren and their spouses, 15 great-grandchildren, siblings Robert Larkin, Richard Larkin, Francis Larkin and Ann Lombardo, in-laws Rita Campbell, Helen Arszyla and Michael Mandulak, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St., Bridgeport.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Andrew's Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport.

Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford.
